The limiting of greenhouse emissions into the atmosphere is key to slowing down climate change but so is the removal of existing CO2 from our air, which is what the Climeworks Direct Air Capture plant aims to perform.
The innovative plant is designed to draw in the air that surrounds it in order to filter out the CO2 that is present, convert it using chemicals and deposit it onto the surface of a filter. The filters are then heated in order to isolate the CO2 before being almost ready for use in a number of different ways for things such as food growth, beverage carbonation and much more.
