The [handheld LED wand](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumaglow-red-blue) uses powerful UVC light to kill bacteria and germs, sterilizing surfaces in as little as a few seconds. Hand-washing is important for personal hygiene, but no matter how often one washes, it's still a virtual guarantee that they'll touch something contaminated at one point or another. The Cleanty V2 changes the proposition: rather than cleaning one's hands, why not clean the objects that one touches instead? In ten seconds, the pocket-sized device's [UVC sterilizer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ladislamp-disinfection) can knock out 99.9 percent of bacteria on any surface, rendering it clean (and saving hands from [constant washing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloud-999-hydrating-hand-sanitizer).) ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.6/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 96% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **UVC Sterilization:** Opportunity to develop innovative UVC sterilization devices for efficient and convenient bacteria elimination. - **Handheld Sanitation Devices:** Potential for creating portable and easy-to-use devices that sanitize surfaces using light technology. - **Personal Hygiene Solutions:** Opportunity to redefine personal hygiene by focusing on cleaning the objects we touch rather than just our hands. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Healthcare:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to integrate UVC light technology in healthcare settings for efficient sterilization. - **Hospitality:** Opportunity for hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality businesses to use handheld sanitation devices to enhance cleanliness and guest safety. - **Consumer Electronics:** Potential for consumer electronics manufacturers to create pocket-sized UVC sterilization devices as everyday hygiene tools. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Convenient Home Sanitation Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-sanitation-device.md) - [Mini Portable Toothbrush Sanitizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bril-uvc-toothbrush-sanitizer.md) - [Highly Effective Phone Cleaners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cleanstation.md) - [Touchless Disinfection Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uvc-led-disinfection-light.md) - [Bacteria-Killing Water Bottles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uvc-selfcleaning-water-bottle.md) - [AI-Powered Disinfectant Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uvceed.md) - [Dual-Purpose Device Sanitizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totallee-uv-phone-sanitizer.md) - [Reliable Self-Sanitizing Toothbrushes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hahatec-self-sanitizing-toothbrush.md) - [Shopping Cart Disinfecting Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sliball.md)
