Although many people make a great effort with recycling, there are times where recycling ends up in the trash and vice versa—CleanRobotics' TrashBot takes the form of a robotic trash can that helps with automatic sorting.
While companies are making the switch to recyclable takeaway containers and takeaway utensils, many consumers are left feeling confused when it comes to appropriately disposing of these items. As Charles Yhap, co-founder and CEO of CleanRobotics, describes "The idea was really born out of frustration. I’ll eat my food and I go to throw something away and I’m confronted with an array of waste bins, and it’s just so confusing—everywhere you go, the rules are slightly different, and I’m still not sure that I’m doing it correctly."
