# Glass Labyrinth Installations The Claudio Parmiggiani Galleria d’Arte Moderna Show is Shattering By Meghan Young | Published 2014-05-06 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/claudio-parmiggiani-galleria-darte-moderna References: [fubiz.net](http://www.fubiz.net/en/2014/05/05/glass-labyrinth-installation/) & [simonleegallery](http://www.simonleegallery.com/artists/claudio_parmiggiani/selected_works.html) The Claudio Parmiggiani Galleria d’[Arte Moderna](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/riflessi) installation, which is located in Bologna, takes on the form of a stunning [glass labyrinth](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-collection). Although this may seem to defeat the purpose of such a maze, it could arguably make the experience even more frustrating. The transparent walls would theoretically trick people even more as they blend together to form a big glass case around its victim. Lab rats are often put into [similar mazes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maze-lamp), after all. But what makes the Claudio Parmiggiani Galleria d’Arte Moderna installation particularly intriguing is what happens after it is built. The artist, who lives and works in Parma, Italy, shatters it. The clear labyrinth was so puzzling because it could only be broken out of, not walked as is the case with traditional mazes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 87% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Transparent Maze Installations:** Creating transparent maze installations that provide a unique and frustrating experience for the visitors. - **Installation Art Destruction:** Dismantling installations after building them to offer an unusual approach to art creation that will challenge visitors' perception of the art world. - **Immersive Art Spaces:** Designing art spaces that immerse visitors into a unique and intriguing experience through the use of unconventional layouts and design elements. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** Developing innovative art concepts and installations that combine traditional elements with new and unconventional materials. - **Entertainment:** Creating exciting and immersive entertainment spaces that offer unique and interactive experiences to visitors beyond traditional experiences. - **Architecture:** Incorporating unique and unconventional design elements into architectural projects to create innovative and distinctive spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mirrored Hall Visual Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/internamente.md) - [Optical Illusion Replica Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liberty-science-center.md) - [Immersive Crystal Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immersive-crystal-installation.md) - [Maze-Inspired Performance Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/city-of-time.md) - [Reflective Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-caviar.md) - [Chaos-Insppired Ceramic Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-installation1.md) - [Immersive Kinetic Glass Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kinetic-glass-installation.md) - [Artfully Rotating Glass Pillars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panorama.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md)
