Aside from its beautifully professional exterior, one of its perks includes a protective three-layer design: a padded liner, premium neoprene and an exterior impact-resistant plastic. The case comes in a variety of finishes and colors, as well as offers the option of an attached handle at the top of the case, transforming a padfolio-like accessory into a [modern briefcase](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apex-briefcase). Fittingly so, like your beloved Mac products, this solid case wins in terms of looks and functionality. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 70% | Activity: 93% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/fashion) > [Fashion for Men](https://www.trendhunter.com/fashionformen) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Slim and Padded Laptop Cases:** There is a demand for laptop cases that provide protection without adding too much bulk, making slim and padded designs a potential trend to watch out for. - **Multi-layered Protective Laptop Cases:** The Cityslicker case's success could potentially lead to the development of more multi-layered and impact-resistant protective laptop cases. - **Convertible Laptop Cases:** The option of adding a handle to the Cityslicker case hints at the potential for a trend of convertible laptop cases that can transform from a padfolio-like accessory to a modern briefcase. ### Who This Affects Most - **Computers and Electronics:** As more people invest in laptops, the demand for slim and protective laptop cases is expected to grow, presenting an opportunity for the computer and electronics industry to capitalize on this trend. - **Fashion and Accessories:** The Cityslicker case's professional aesthetic and variety of finishes and colors suggest potential for disruption in the fashion and accessories industry, with more manufacturers exploring the design and production of stylish laptop cases. - **Manufacturing:** The development of multi-layered and impact-resistant protective laptop cases like the Cityslicker case creates an opportunity for the manufacturing industry to innovate and potentially revolutionize the laptop accessory market. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Leather-Accented Laptop Sleeves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/padded-laptop-sleeve.md) - [Shock-Absorbing Laptop Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casetify-5.md) - [Fray-Free Fabric Laptop Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fabric-laptop-case.md) - [Dual-Material Laptop Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hardgraft-5050-macbook-pro-sleeve.md) - [Heat-Disbursing Laptop Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heatdisbursing-laptop-case.md) - [Luxury Leather Laptop Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-leather-slim-case.md) - [Ultra-Slim Laptop Protectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/satechi-ecohardshell-case.md) - [Durable Laptop Sleeve Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portland-gear-laptop-sleeve.md) - [Five-in-One Laptop Carrier Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standing-laptop-sleeve.md)
