# Canopy-Like Lighting The Circle Floor Lamp Provides Soft Elegant Light By Meghan Young | Published 2010-08-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/circle-floor-lamp References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/004536.html) & [depadova.it](http://www.depadova.it/) The [Circle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/circle-of-light-candle-collection) floor lamp brings to mind those [banana leaf fans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/banana-lamp) that also provide shade, but *they* can't boast the power of light. Of course, this lamp can't boast the fanning and shading aspects of real foliage, but it definitely has style going for it. Designed by Monica Forster for Italian furniture company [De Padova](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/de-padova), the Circle floor lamp sweeps elegantly, providing soft lighting from above. Available in yellow, white and black, it has a convenient foot switch and uses energy-saving fluorescent bulbs. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Energy-saving Lighting:** Designing versatile and aesthetically pleasing lighting solutions that use energy-saving technology presents opportunities for disruptive innovation. - **Elegant Minimalism:** Exploring elegant, minimalist designs for furniture and home decor creates opportunities for disruptive innovation in the industry. - **Natural Inspiration:** Incorporating natural shapes and materials into home decor and furniture design presents opportunities for disruptive innovation. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can incorporate innovative energy-saving lighting solutions and minimalist, nature-inspired designs into their offerings. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can create products that incorporate both stylish and environmentally friendly lighting solutions and minimalist element in their designs. - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can take inspiration from nature and create minimalist, functional pieces that utilize energy-saving technology in their lighting solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nature-Inspired Living Space Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonlight-floor-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Lunar Lighting Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonsetter-floor-lamp.md) - [Circular Hollow Timeless Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lost-collection.md) - [Bamboo Forest-Inspired Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightbone.md) - [Cutesy Coiled Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-helix-lamp.md) - [Contemporary Modular Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/point-floor-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Interactive Blooming Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloomlight-s-lamp.md)
