The CipherBoard app is a new way to send [encrypted messages](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/extbin) on any iOS application. The app works as sort of a [keyboard extension](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/text-productivity). When typing messages in the CipherBoard app you're able to encrypt them, with the message looking something like Braille to the receiver. Only the recipient of the message can decrypt it, and they need to have CipherBoard installed to do so. This makes messaging back and forth a bit tough, which is why it's probably smart not to use this app for social messages or quick "yo's."

Tools like the CipherBoard app ensure that there's a safeguard that's readily available and easy to use for those who fear their phones falling victim to hackers. It also ensures that [private messages stay private](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yapsdotchat). The CipherBoard app is out now as a free download for iOS. No timeline has been given for an Android launch.
