British artist Christopher Bucklow has created sparkling pieces of artwork that have been exhibited all over the world, including the Danziger Gallery in New York. This series titled 'Guests' involves his subject's silhouettes shaped on aluminum foil. He then puts in about 20,000 tiny pin holes into the foil silhouettes, and then places these over [photographic paper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-portraits). He then exposes this paper to the sunlight and the result is amazing [sun-streamed work](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miror-collection). Although an incredible amount of detail goes into his work, the renderings look quite minimalist. When put up against the light, it's hard not to be mesmerized by these drawings. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Glowing Figure Portraits:** Opportunity for artists to explore new techniques in creating captivating glowing figure artwork. - **Minimalist Renderings:** Potential for minimalist art to gain popularity and captivate viewers with its simplicity and mesmerizing effect. - **Sun-streamed Artwork:** Emerging trend of using sunlight to create unique and awe-inspiring artistic pieces. ### Where This Applies - **Art:** Artists can leverage glowing figure portraits to create innovative and captivating artwork that resonates with viewers. - **Photography:** Photographers can explore incorporating the sun-streamed technique into their work to add a new level of creativity and visual impact. - **Exhibition:** Galleries and curators can showcase minimalist renderings and sun-streamed artwork to attract attention and engage art enthusiasts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bright-light-shining.md) - [Illuminated Curtained Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible.md) - [Interactive Colorful Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/david-hockney-bigger-closer.md) - [Artful Suspended Fashion Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisible-figures.md) - [Immersive Light Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spencer-finch.md) - [Glass Beaded Intricate Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition.md) - [Retro Glass Sculpture Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/larry-bell.md) - [Stunningly Intricate Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shapes-of-light.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md)
