# Desolate Desert Photography Chris Sisarich Finds Beauty in an Austere Egyptian Landscape By Jordan M | Published 2011-01-11 | World Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chris-sisarich References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/Somewhere-in-the-Middle-of-Nowhere/764791) & [chrissisarich](http://www.chrissisarich.com/) While on location in Egypt for a Tourism project, photographer Chris Sisarich was struck by the powerful effect the stark surrounding landscape had on him. Therefore, whenever he could find some free time, he began traveling to some of the most barren expanses he could find in order to begin taking these pictures. This resulting collection, which Chris Sisarich calls 'Somehwere in the Middle of Nowhere,' has an eerie, almost otherworldly feel to it despite the fact that each location is real and each photograph is unaltered. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [Travel](https://www.trendhunter.com/travel) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Desolate Tourism:** Opportunity for tourism companies to offer unique experiences in remote, desolate locations. - **Eerie Landscape Photography:** Opportunity for photographers to capture and showcase the beauty of austere, desolate landscapes. - **Remote Corporate Retreats:** Opportunity for companies to offer corporate retreat experiences in remote, off-the-grid locations. ### Where This Applies - **Tourism:** Opportunity for tourism companies to offer unique experiences in remote, desolate locations. - **Photography:** Opportunity for photographers to capture and showcase the beauty of austere, desolate landscapes. - **Corporate Retreats:** Opportunity for companies to offer corporate retreat experiences in remote, off-the-grid locations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dramatic Doomsday Bunker Images](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alastair-philip-wiper.md) - [Large-Scale Sculpture Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desert-x1.md) - [Desert-Nestled Home Studios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/high-desert-home.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Monumental Concrete Hotel Suites](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folly-mojave-series.md) - [AI Travel Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/epic-ai-travel-photos.md) - [Travel Photography Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/all-within-the-detour.md)
