# Beautiful Bug Wardrobes The Chris Lehrecke 'Butterfly Cabinet' Features Pulls by Ted Muehling By Senduran Bhakthakumaran | Published 2012-03-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chris-lehrecke-butterfly-cabinet References: [erbutler](http://www.erbutler.com/?kcategory=26&ksubcategory=52&m=1) & [ralphpucci.net](http://ralphpucci.net/furniture/Chris-Lehrecke/collection) Personally, I've always wished I could change the [pulls on my drawers and cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet-hardware) so that they do not look so bland and the Chris Lehrecke 'Butterfly Cabinet' is a simple design that features simply beautiful pulls made by Ted Muehling. [The desk is rectangular](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/otis-hanger-30) and extremely simplistic in design which gives the [butterfly pulls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/profile-collection) ample amount of space to shine. The curved designs by Ted Muehling are perfect to grasp, keeping the cabinet fully functional, and they look as if a flock of butterflies are flying across the entire piece making it a great addition to any room (and not just for storage). The Chris Lehrecke Butterfly Cabinet was constructed using bamboo and finished with a plywood-yellow color to contrast beautifully against the butterflies. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 19% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Designer Cabinet Pulls:** Opportunity for designers to create unique and aesthetically pleasing cabinet pulls for furniture pieces. - **Bamboo Furniture:** Opportunity for sustainable and eco-friendly furniture companies to create pieces using bamboo as a primary material. - **Functional Art Furniture:** Opportunity to create furniture pieces that not only serve a practical purpose but also function as works of art. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can incorporate unique and aesthetically pleasing cabinet pulls into their designs to set their furniture apart from competitors. - **Sustainable Furniture:** Companies specializing in sustainable furniture can use bamboo, a fast-growing and renewable resource, as a primary material for their pieces. - **Art Furniture:** Art furniture companies can create functional pieces that serve a practical purpose while also acting as visually stunning artwork. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Forest-Inspired Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayashi-cabinet.md) - [Modular Collaboration Stool Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/butterfly-stool.md) - [Ergonomic Butterfly-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wings-chair.md) - [Stylish Oakwood Storage Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moose-cabinet.md) - [Winged Storage Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flutterbox.md) - [Elegant Wooden Pull Handles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ribbon-pull.md) - [Vibrant Butterfly Bags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tyler-mcgillivary-2.md) - [Minimal Four-Legged Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exposure-cabinet.md) - [Unique Burl-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/don-heston-studio.md)
