# Sweeping Seashore Sanctuaries The Chris Elliott Architects Seacliff House is Stunning By Shiori Mine | Published 2012-07-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chris-elliott-architects-seacliff-house References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2012/07/07/seacliff-house-by-chris-elliott-architects) & [chriselliottarchitects](http://www.chriselliottarchitects.com/) The Chris Elliott Architects Seacliff House overlooks a magnificent shoreline and fits beautifully into the sandstone landscape. The long, narrow lot challenged architects with how to integrate all the comforts of home in a skinny profile. The bedroom sits on top of an all-glass ground floor, which provides one stellar view during breakfast time. Peculiar pocketed windows allow additional light to spread into the interior, providing an airy accommodation throughout. Ceiling to floor curtains allow home owners to open and close off spaces depending on their needs and the time of day. With a view like that from your bedside, who needs a 50-inch flat screen? The cliff-like exterior continues into the basement and bathroom, where guests will encounter a grotto-esque shower and soaker tub. Tucked away on a picturesque Austrialian coastline, the Chris Elliott Architects Seacliff House is one breathtaking residence. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Sustainable Architecture:** The integration of all-glass ground floors and pocketed windows presents an opportunity for sustainable architecture design. - **Flexible Living Spaces:** Ceiling to floor curtains and openable spaces provide an opportunity for designing flexible living spaces that can adapt to different needs and times of the day. - **Naturalistic Bathroom Design:** The grotto-esque shower and soaker tub in the basement bathroom showcase a trend towards naturalistic bathroom designs that create a serene and immersive experience. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** Architects can explore disruptive innovation opportunities in sustainable architecture and designing flexible living spaces. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate the naturalistic bathroom design trend in their projects to create unique and immersive bathroom experiences. - **Construction:** Construction companies can specialize in implementing sustainable architecture techniques and constructing flexible living spaces to meet the evolving needs of homeowners. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Privacy-Focused Australian Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clifton-house.md) - [Stepped Hillside Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/b2a-architects.md) - [Off-Grid Oceanside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/campos-studio.md) - [Stone-Finished Coastal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/matopos.md) - [Light-Filled Open Beach Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-sky-beach-house.md) - [Cliffside Minimalist Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aip-azia-villa.md) - [Organic Coastal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diachok-architects.md) - [Meadow-Overlooking Sleek Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studioac-1.md) - [Coastal Island Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pasparakisfriel.md)
