# Intuitive Chopper Controllers The Chorus Helicopter Remote Control Responds to Natural Commands By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-09-03 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chorus-helicopter-remote-control References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2012/08/15/reinventing-the-chopper-control/) The [joystick, the switches and the buttons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-flight-stick) have been ditched in favor of the Chorus Helicopter Remote Control. The former dashboard might be more familiar to a practiced RC user, but this disk-shaped device is a great deal more logical. Holding the round gadget in one hand, the user can simply adjust the [rotatable dial top](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-id360-touchstone), clockwise or counterclockwise to turn the aircraft right or left. The cap also pivots slightly on a vertical axis, allowing one to initiate forward or backward movement of the [electronic toy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aeroleap). The circular shape of Ben Wahrlich's contraption makes it an object that's much more relatable to the spinning blades of the chopper. It's a great deal more instinctive and ergonomic. To top it off, the Chorus Helicopter Remote Control is equipped with a concealed trigger in the base for deliberate height changes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Intuitive Chopper Controllers:** Opportunity for intuitive and user-friendly controllers that replace traditional buttons and switches with logical and ergonomic designs. - **Disk-shaped Remote Controls:** Potential for circular-shaped remote controls that mimic spinning blades of helicopters, providing a more relatable and instinctive user experience. - **Concealed Trigger Technology:** Innovation opportunity for remote controls with concealed triggers for deliberate and precise height changes of electronic toys or devices. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Toy Manufacturing Industry:** Disruptive innovation potential in the toy manufacturing industry to create intuitive and ergonomic remote controls for electronic toys, enhancing user experience. - **Consumer Electronics Industry:** Opportunity for the consumer electronics industry to develop circular-shaped remote controls that offer more logical and relatable controls for drones, helicopters, and other electronic devices. - **Gaming Industry:** Innovation potential in the gaming industry for controllers that incorporate disk-shaped designs and concealed triggers, providing a more immersive and intuitive gaming experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wearable Drone Controller Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drone-controller-concept.md) - [Gaming-Style Drone Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orqa-fpvctrl.md) - [T-Shaped Remote Controls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sightless-remote-control.md) - [Intuitive Touchscreen Remote Controls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touchsense-remote.md) - [Adventurer Camera Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-gopro-controller.md) - [Transforming TV Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/controller-and-remote.md) - [Gesture-Controlled Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spatial-touch.md) - [Physical Smart Home Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flic-twist.md) - [Handheld Hydrofoil Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lift-foils-elite.md)
