# Sharply Mountainous Structures The Chongqing Greenland Clubhouse by PURE Design is Nature-Inspired By Meghan Young | Published 2013-03-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chongqing-greenland-clubhouse References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2013/03/28/chongqing-greenland-clubhouse-by-pure-design/) & [puredesign.us](http://www.puredesign.us/) Mimicking the mountains in its surroundings, the Chongqing Greenland Clubhouse features sharp peaks that are nevertheless more contemporary than organic. In fact, it is located halfway up the south side of the mountain in Hong’en Temple Forest Park facing the Jialing River. The strikingly angled portions of the roof levels out below to create a strong base from which to jut out of. Created by [PURE Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wax-melts1), the Chongqing Greenland Clubhouse provides a dialogue between the [mountain and the river](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-echo-villa). For instance, the heavy gray colour of the external zinc cladding speaks to the former while the surface facing the latter is tranquil and lithe like a crystal case. The Chongqing Greenland Clubhouse is home to a [real estate exhibition space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gstaad-house), sales rooms, infinity pool and more. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Nature-inspired Architecture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporating organic elements into contemporary design to create visually striking structures that blend with the natural environment. - **Dialogue Between Surroundings and Architecture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating buildings that communicate and harmonize with their natural surroundings, using color, texture, and form. - **Multi-functional Building Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Designing structures that serve multiple purposes, such as combining exhibition spaces, sales rooms, and recreational areas in one building. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Exploring new ways to incorporate nature-inspired elements, create structures that blend with the surroundings, and design multi-functional buildings. - **Real Estate:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introducing innovative and visually striking building designs to enhance real estate offerings and create unique selling points. - **Tourism and Hospitality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Building distinctive and visually appealing structures to attract tourists and provide unique experiences for hospitality venues. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nature-Inspired Poolside Homestay](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miyue-blue-and-white-island-pool-homestay.md) - [Mountain-Based Curved Viewpoints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yunhai-forest-service-station.md) - [Stone-Like Discreet Glass Viewpoints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drifting-stones.md) - [Modern Mountainous Luxury Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robert-chisholm-architects.md) - [Landscape-Concealed Cultural Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chaohu-natural-and-cultural-centre.md) - [Beautiful Forest-Enclosed Churches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mountain-church-of-julong.md) - [Cave-Style Coastal Viewpoints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blue-insight-cave-space.md) - [Residential Mountain Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avber-house.md) - [Black-Timber Stealthy Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dropstop.md)
