# Spicy Sweet Theater Snacks This Chocolate-Drizzled Popcorn is Also Topped with Peppers and Bacon By Alyson Wyers | Published 2015-03-23 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chocolatedrizzled-popcorn References: [howsweeteats](http://www.howsweeteats.com/2015/03/hot-pepper-bacon-popcorn-with-a-lindt-chocolate-drizzle/) Given most movie theater snack combos involve a [mix of popcorn and candy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prospector-popcorn-superstar-crunch), it makes sense someone would combine the two into one with chocolate-drizzled popcorn. However, food blogger Jessica from How Sweet It Is didn't just stop at melting [Lindt](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dubai-style-sundae) chocolate (specifically their Sweet Popcorn variety) on top of popcorn. This recipe is for Hot Pepper Bacon Popcorn with a Lindt Chocolate Drizzle. Going to the movies will never be the same. Whether you try to sneak in your own treats at the theater or are hosting your own movie night, this chocolate-drizzled popcorn is an insanely awesome addition. The recipe calls for yummy ingredients like jalapenos, bacon, chocolate, corn kernels and unsalted butter. Even though Jessica used Lindt, you could use a classic milk chocolate bar or 85% dark chocolate. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.6/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Chocolate-drizzled Popcorn:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create new flavors and combinations of chocolate-drizzled popcorn, incorporating unique ingredients. - **Hot Pepper Bacon Popcorn:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop spicy and savory popcorn flavors using ingredients like jalapenos and bacon. - **DIY Movie Night Snacks:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Offer DIY snack kits or pre-packaged movie night snacks with customizable combinations for a fun and interactive experience. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Food and Beverage:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Experiment with new snack offerings in movie theaters or partner with theaters to offer unique popcorn flavors. - **Confectionery and Chocolate:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with confectionery brands to create specialty chocolate-drizzled popcorn products or launch limited-edition collaborations. - **Entertainment and Leisure:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop themed movie night experiences that include personalized popcorn flavors and toppings for an enhanced entertainment experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Chocolate Mint Popcorn Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chocolate-mint-popcorn.md) - [Chocolatey Kettle Corn Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chocolatey-drizzled-strawberry-kettle-popcorn.md) - [Chocolatey Donut Popcorn Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartfood-chocolate-glazed-donut.md) - [Chocolate-Coated Popcorn Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chocolatecoated-popcorn.md) - [Popcorn-Flavored Hot Chocolates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/popcorn-bar-hot-chocolate.md) - [Candy-Covered Popcorn Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reeses-popcorn.md) - [Bottled Popcorn Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/popcorn-kits.md) - [Dessert-Flavored Popcorn Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartfood-chocolate-caramel.md) - [Cinema-Inspired Chocolate Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microbatch-chocolate-bars.md)
