This holiday season, you can end your meal with a plate of [Trader Joe's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tricolored-mini-gnocchi) new Chocolate Lava Gnocchi.

As you might have guessed from the name, Trader Joe's new Chocolate Lava Gnocchi consists of potato-based pasta infused with cocoa and filled with a molten chocolate core. The product came about after Trader Joe’s VP of Product Innovation, Lori Latta, sampled some chocolate gnocchi at [Harrod’s](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prada-caff) in London and felt she could do better. As she explained, "This was originally designed to be dessert, but I think that there are some people who might make a dinner out of it."

As far as prep, all consumers need to do is add a little butter or ghee to a ban to brown and warm the little [chocolate dumplings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chocorogi).
