**Implications** - Consumers no longer only factor in functionality when making purchases, they're also conscious of a product's aesthetic flair. This is due in large part to social conditioning whereby North Americans are expected to be individualistic. Corporations who can offer exclusive products will thus be able to charge larger premiums for items in comparison to their more readily available competitors.
