# Fiercely Angular Hot Tubs The Chillpool Puts a Square Face on the Above-Ground Jacuzzi By Michael Hines | Published 2012-01-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chillpool References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/chillpool-chill-whirlpool-from-gp-designpartners/) & [gp.co.at](http://www.gp.co.at/) GP Designpartners has conceptualized a [modern jacuzzi](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balnea-spa) with fiercely angular lines dubbed the Chillpool. The Chillpool is a word combination of the "chill" and "whirlpool" and is designed to be "a comfortable piece of architecture." The Chillpool is made out of steel and has a sleek shape and form. The unique shape of the Chillpool is designed to fit the form of the human body. While there isn't much technically new about this design, it does show the evolution of design and of the jacuzzi itself. Typical above ground jacuzzis are relaxing, but they're aesthetic eyesores. GP Designpartners creation is easy on the eyes and functional. Thanks to its square shape, it could easily fit along the side of a [high-rise apartment's balcony](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/malvern-pool-house), unlike the [massive circular hot tubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/round-about-baths) of today. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Angular Hot Tubs:** The trend of angular hot tubs presents an opportunity for innovative designs that combine sleek aesthetics with functional comfort. - **Evolution of Design:** The evolution of jacuzzi design offers opportunities to create visually appealing and space-efficient solutions like the Chillpool. - **Functional Architecture:** The trend towards jacuzzis as comfortable pieces of architecture indicates a potential for innovative designs that seamlessly blend into their surroundings. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architectural Design:** Architectural companies can embrace the trend of angular hot tubs, creating innovative designs that enhance the aesthetics and functionality of outdoor spaces. - **Luxury Furniture:** Luxury furniture manufacturers can explore the opportunity of incorporating angular hot tub designs into their product lines, catering to customers seeking unique and stylish outdoor relaxation options. - **Real Estate Development:** Real estate developers can capitalize on the trend towards functional architecture by incorporating sleek, space-efficient jacuzzi designs into high-rise building plans, adding value to residential properties. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Customizable Tanning Pools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-tanning-pool.md) - [Compact Cold Plunge Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plunge-pod.md) - [Rounded Hydromassage Tubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aretusa-tub-by-claudio-papa.md) - [Inflatable Cold Plunge Tubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plunge-evolve-series.md) - [Ocean-Centric Portable Jacuzzis](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacuzzi.md) - [Plug-and-Play Cold Plunge Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/athome-cold-plunge.md) - [Pool-Centric Temperature Control Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/temperature-control-system.md) - [Connected Cold Plunge Pools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monk-smart-ice-bath.md) - [Water-Circulating Cold Plunge Tubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plunge-allin-ice-bath.md)
