Boasting a [sculptural aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archetypes), the seat has a [curved base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-heart-chair) that is supported by a metallic frame that adds enhanced durability for the furniture piece. This means that the chair can actually be used as a seat in a space instead of existing as a work of art that is merely meant to be enjoyed from a visual standpoint. The 'Chic Chair' concept has been designed in several [vibrant color options](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taptap-chair) and speaks to a shift towards functional haute fashion furniture as practicality is transitioned from a faux pas into a welcomed aspect of high-end design. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 94% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Functional Artwork:** Opportunity to combine practicality with artistic design in furniture. - **Contemporary Seating:** Disruptive innovation potential in creating comfortable and stylish seating solutions. - **Functional Haute Fashion:** Emerging trend of integrating practicality into high-end fashion furniture. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Innovative designs that merge functionality and artistic elements in seating solutions. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity to provide contemporary and stylish seating options for homes. - **Office Furniture:** Potential to introduce functional and aesthetically pleasing seating solutions for office spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Posh Pet-Friendly Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quella-chair.md) - [Chaotically Natural Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kkochgalam-chair.md) - [Supportive Lightning Bolt Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightning-chair.md) - [Sliding Flatpack Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folio-chair.md) - [Ultra-Simple Multifunctional Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chairpf.md) - [Flatpack Ultra-Modular Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-chair.md) - [Snack Chip-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chipp-rocking-chair.md) - [Sculptural Recycled Plastic Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-chair.md) - [Upcycled CD Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-disc-chair.md)
