The program produced two separate farmer-owned entities: the Chetna Organic Farmers Association (COFA) and the Chetna Organic Agriculture Producer Company Ltd (COAPCL).

Founded in 2004, Chetna Organic seeks to enable [ethical supplies chains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ethical-commerce-platform) by both increasing access to fair trade markets and supporting farmers in terms of profitability and sustainability. Chetna also works with similarly oriented organizations internationally in order to create a global market that supports organic and fair trade products within developing nations, as well as creating and maintaining farm systems aligned with those values within India.
