# Luminous Kitchen Gadgets Cheese Grater Light Puts Unused Apparatus to Work By Christina Butty | Published 2009-10-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cheese-grater-light References: [coolest-gadgets](http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20091015/cheese-grater-light-cheese-graters-stylish/) & [switchedonset](http://www.switchedonset.com/2009/10/cheese-grater-light-from-the-conran-shop.html) If you are looking for an [affordable](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/decoration-light), [eclectic lighting fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analog-lamps-1), this Cheese Grater Light could be a win. It would probably be a great night light, since it would disperse the direct light on the wall. It would certainly be a conversation piece, to say the least. In my opinion, it would look better in a plain steel rather than the pylon orange that it comes in, but everyone is a critic. Priced at £29.00 or about $47 US dollars, the Cheese Grater Light is a tad expensive for a night light, but still desirable nevertheless. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 75% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Eclectic Lighting Fixtures:** Opportunities in creating affordable and unique lighting fixtures for the home. - **Upcycling Home Accessories:** Disruptive innovation to repurpose unused kitchen gadgets and utensils as decorative household items. - **Functional Decor:** Increasing demand for household items with dual purposes, such as lighting fixtures that also serve as conversation pieces. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** Potential industry for affordable and creative home lighting accessories and decor. - **Upcycling Industry:** Industry that repurposes unused kitchen gadgets and utensils into fashionable home accessories. - **Kitchen Appliance Industry:** Industry that could capitalize on cross-functional kitchen products, such as appliances that can also serve as household decorations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bakery-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croissant-pendant-light.md) - [Baked Good-Inspired Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croissant-pendant.md) - [One-Touch Parmesan Graters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-cheese-grater.md) - [Recycled Cardboard Workspace Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/graypants-dash-linear-light-fixture.md) - [Low-Cost In-Cabinet Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-gmpyssling-led-light.md) - [Pencil Shaving-Inspired Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharpener-lampshades.md) - [Animation-Inspired LED Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animationinspired-led-lamp.md) - [Chic Saucer-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-in-tight-light-fixture.md) - [Outlet-Equipped Workstation Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avro-pendant-lamp.md)
