If you're like me, you've probably never given much thought to ladders other than that they're used to climb up to high places you can't reach; Charlie Styrbjörn Nilsson has clearly pondered the purpose and design possibilities of the ladder in order to create this modern and lovely piece. The Gothenburg-based Nilsson has created an art piece that doesn't follow the usual design of a ladder. Rather than ordinary straight steps, this ladder features curved steps that beautifully connects the design as a whole. The Ladder by Charlie Styrbjörn Nilsson will make its debut at the London Design Festival at Tent London. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 15% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Curved Ladders:** Designers are exploring the possibility of adding a curve to ladder steps for aesthetic and functional purposes. - **Artistic Functional Design:** Designers are focusing on creating functional objects that act as art pieces and elevate home aesthetics. - **Innovative Furniture Design:** Furniture designers are exploring new concepts and materials to create modern and unique pieces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** Furniture manufacturers can explore the use of curved ladders in bookshelves, art installations, and other home furniture. - **Home Decor:** Home decor retailers can market the Ladder by Charlie Styrbjörn Nilsson as a statement piece that can elevate home aesthetics. - **Art:** Art galleries can showcase Charlie Styrbjörn Nilsson's ladder as a functional art piece that showcases the meeting of design and functionality. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Experimental Artforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ladder-series.md) - [Contemporary Folding Ladders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scaleo.md) - [Bold Architectural Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-iron-house.md) - [Climbing Rope-Crafted Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/entwined-objects.md) - [Dynamic Bookend Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stair-table.md) - [Rock Climbing-Inspired Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cling-stool.md) - [Elevated Leisure Habitats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elevated-leisure-habitat.md) - [Fluid Wooden Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loop-furnitures.md) - [Concrete Spiral Staircase Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cadenza.md)
