Winner of the People's Choice Award on [ABC's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/almond-butter-and-chocolate-masterclass) 'New Inventors,' Wheelskates may become the preferred choice for [urban commuters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonwalkers-aero). Check out the latest video by Chariot Skates to see what I mean. **Implications** - The company is using these videos as a continual promotional tool. Take a look and see if they're spending their money the right way. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 94% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/health) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Wheelskates for Urban Commuters:** The rise of Wheelskates as a smooth ride for urban commuters presents opportunities for disruptive innovation in the personal mobility industry. - **Hybrid Cycling-skiing Transportation:** The hybrid design of Wheelskates presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the automotive industry for alternative modes of transportation. - **Promotion Via Social Media:** The successful use of social media for ongoing promotion of Wheelskates presents opportunities for disruptive innovation in the marketing industry for consumer products. ### Who This Affects Most - **Personal Mobility:** The smooth ride of Wheelskates for urban commuters presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the personal mobility industry. - **Automotive:** The hybrid design of Wheelskates presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the automotive industry for alternative modes of transportation. - **Marketing:** The successful use of social media for ongoing promotion of Wheelskates presents opportunities for disruptive innovation in the marketing industry for consumer products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [App-Controlled Skates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appcontrolled-skates.md) - [Motorized Inline Skate Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/escend-blades.md) - [All Terrain Electric Skis](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skwheel-one.md) - [Walking Assistance Roller Skates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-roller-skates.md) - [Electric Inline Skates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atmosgear.md) - [Motorized Electric Roller Skates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollwalk-electric-roller-skates.md) - [Aftermarket Stroller Wheel Skis](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wheelblades-xl-stroller-skis.md) - [Two-Wheeled Surfing-Inspired Skateboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surf-skateboard.md) - [Customized Roller Skate Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roller-skate-kit.md)
