# Glass-Domed Lighting Ligne Roset's Chantal Table Lamp Resembles a Jellyfish By Meghan Young | Published 2011-11-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chantal-table-lamp References: [hypebeast](http://hypebeast.com/2011/11/ligne-roset-chantal-table-lamp-by-stephen-burks/) & [ligne-roset-usa](http://www.ligne-roset-usa.com/Products/lighting/table-lamps/Chantal_1788.aspx) Like a jellyfish, the Chantal Table Lamp is transparent with a dome-like top and slim base. Stunning in its simplicity, the red cord that travels up its spine almost seems to symbolize the potential deadliness of the jellyfish too. Thankfully, the Chantal Table Lamp is far from dangerous. Created by American contemporary furniture designer Stephen Burks of ReadyMade Projects for Ligne Roset, the Chantal Table Lamp has an overall [sculptural presence](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-table-lamp) that makes it more artistic than just a sea creature. The beauty of the [mouth-blown glass](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foscarini-1) is that it emits light from all angles, creating a soft and subtle glow. Suitable for just about any living space, the Chantal Table Lamp has a chameleon effect since it blends in quite well with any existing decor. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Transparent Lighting:** The Chantal Table Lamp showcases the trend of transparent lighting, offering opportunities for innovative designs that emit light from all angles. - **Sculptural Lighting:** The Chantal Table Lamp exemplifies the trend of sculptural lighting, encouraging the development of artistic and visually striking lighting fixtures. - **Chameleon Design:** The Chantal Table Lamp reflects the trend of chameleon design, suggesting the potential for lighting fixtures that seamlessly blend with any interior decor. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** The Chantal Table Lamp is a disruptive innovation opportunity for the furniture industry to expand their offerings to include unique and artistic lighting designs. - **Lighting:** The Chantal Table Lamp presents an innovation opportunity for the lighting industry to explore new materials, shapes, and lighting techniques to create visually stunning and versatile lighting fixtures. - **Interior Design:** The Chantal Table Lamp offers an opportunity for the interior design industry to incorporate an elegant and versatile lighting solution into their projects, enhancing the overall aesthetic of spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reversible Glass Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jal.md) - [Japanese Lantern-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/madco.md) - [Stunning Mushroom-Shaped Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mushroomshaped-table-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Pasta-Inspired Curvaceous Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neotenic-lamp.md) - [Elegant Compact Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-table-light.md) - [Bulbous Whimsical Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neotenic.md) - [Transparent Base Sleek Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chapeaux-lamp.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md)
