[CHANEL](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/factory-5) 3rd is a [low cost alternative](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/everyday-luxuries-collection) to CHANEL No. 5. Unfortunately, it's just a concept from The Onion, but the idea is so good, it may inspire someone's creativity.

**Implications** - The faux perfume comes in a yellow plastic container which almost looks as if its contents contain dishwashing fluid. Mind you, the cap does add a little sparkle and shine to the whole hoax.

The Onion is clearly mocking the [ultra luxury (and expensive) brand](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alt-fragrances) that is Chanel -- a great way to go viral in a market that has taken to resenting high-cost brands since the recession hit. Whether you're a Chanel fan or not, this is definitely a worthwhile parody to take a look at.
