# Kaleidoscopic Visage Visuals Chamo San Renders Abstract Faces with Puzzling Aesthetics By Jason Soy | Published 2012-04-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chamo-san1 References: [flickr](http://www.flickr.com/photos/chamosan/) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/chamosan) These [portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-portraits) by Chamo San are rendered in a style that should not be attempted by everyone. Not only are they drawn realistically, demonstrating a high level of technical skill, but they also emulate the chaotic look of [kaleidoscopes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kalegoidoscope). And if you’re thinking San simply drew a picture and then copied and pasted it a few times to achieve this effect, think again; the talented artist actually draws each fragment from scratch. Those who try to copy San’s peculiar concept will no doubt fail in their initial attempts to replicate such [abstract visuals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1). Chamo San is based in Barcelona, Spain. He considers himself first and foremost an illustrator and a photographer, but enjoys making art in all its various forms. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Kaleidoscopic Portraits:** Creating abstract face visuals with a chaotic kaleidoscope-inspired aesthetic. - **Technical Skill in Art:** Demonstrating high levels of technical skill in realistic, abstract artwork. - **Fragmented Artwork:** Creative approach of drawing each fragment from scratch to achieve a unique visual effect. ### Where This Applies - **Fine Arts:** Exploring innovative techniques and styles in the realm of fine arts. - **Illustration:** Pushing the boundaries of illustration with abstract and unconventional techniques. - **Photography:** Incorporating diverse art forms, like photography, into experimental artwork. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stylized Portrait Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/face-to-all.md) - [Evolved Vibrant Graffiti Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jan-kalb.md) - [AI-Generated Real-World Transformations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-generated-world.md) - [Mesmerizing Sculpture Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mesmerizing-sculpture.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Artful Custom Mirror Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portraits-collection.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Juxtaposing Artful Collaborative Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sea-galaxy.md) - [Whimsical AI Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clayify.md)
