# Chalkboard Light Pendants The Chalkboard Pendant by John Beck Steel Can Light Up Your Life By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2014-04-09 | Special Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chalkboard-pendant References: [fancy](http://fancy.com/things/260803451/Chalkboard-Pendant-Lights-by-John-Beck-Steel?utm=timeline_featured) & [johnbecksteel](http://johnbecksteel.com/lighting/) The [chalkboard pendant](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kala-lamp) by John Beck Steel is a fun way to customize your home -- and bring your fantasies to light while you're at it. While you are free to write whatever you like on it, I'm partial to the advertised message: "Wine is fine, but liquor is quicker!" If you have a home bar, Steel's [custom light fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prose-light) is a perfect way to advertise the drink specials on the menu. Being a host-turned-bartender has never been easier. Avoid reeling off what's stocked in your liquor cabinet and simply write it down instead. Once everyone is properly hydrated with a cocktail or two, the chalkboard capabilities can provide some extra fun for guests. Of course, the chalkboard light has many other uses, including recording your chores, to-do lists and even favorite quotations. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 28% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Special](https://www.trendhunter.com/special) > [Holiday](https://www.trendhunter.com/holiday) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Customizable Lighting:** The chalkboard pendant by John Beck Steel presents an opportunity for further customizable lighting options for home decor. - **Functional Home Decor:** The trend towards functional home decor is evident with the chalkboard pendant by John Beck Steel. - **Interactive Home Technology:** The chalkboard pendant by John Beck Steel highlights the potential for increased interactivity in home technology. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** The customizable and functional aspects of the chalkboard pendant by John Beck Steel make it a potential fit for the home decor industry. - **Hospitality:** The ability of the chalkboard pendant by John Beck Steel to advertise drink specials could make it a fitting trend for the hospitality industry. - **Technology:** The interactive potential of the chalkboard pendant by John Beck Steel makes it a potential disruptor in the technology industry for the home sector. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [American Oak Pendant Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-bean.md) - [Bakery-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croissant-pendant-light.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubbles-lighting-design.md) - [Hanging Connected Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-pendant-light.md) - [Mixed Material Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gant-pendant-lights.md) - [Recycled Material Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zbozhzha-pendant-light.md) - [Outlet-Equipped Workstation Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avro-pendant-lamp.md) - [Oversized Pen Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bic-lamp.md) - [Horizontal Glass Sphere Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comet-pendant.md)
