# Chalk Graffiti Sticks Baschz Leeft's Chalk Stick is Shaped Like a Permanent Graffiti Marker By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2014-09-08 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chalk-stick References: [psfk](http://www.psfk.com/2014/09/chalk-tagger-kids-graffiti-alternative.html) & [baschz.bigcartel](http://baschz.bigcartel.com/product/mfmarker) The classic chalk stick is a toy that kids have played with for decades, but with the MFMARKER Chalk Tagger, artist Baschz Leeft gives the toy's image a much-needed makeover. The MFMarker (MyFirstMarker) is essentially just a [chalk marker](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zenith7-desk-pen) that's been sculpted to look like a permanent marker. Rather than encouraging kids to go out and make a lasting mark on public property with paint or markers, this chalk stick is something that encourages creativity that will be eventually washed away by the rain. Since an ordinary chalk stick just doesn't have the same allure of a graffiti marker, Leeft describes that this creation is one that "Safely introduces little children to the [art of vandalism](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1664-x-andre-saraiva)." For protection, the white piece of chalk comes in a black tube, that almost looks like a [can of spray paint](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hubbabubbabuilding). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 89% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Reimagined Chalk Sticks:** The MFMARKER Chalk Tagger introduces a new design approach to traditional chalk sticks, catering to a younger demographic. - **Creative Vandalism:** Baschz Leeft's Chalk Stick offers a safe and temporary outlet for children to explore the art of graffiti in a non-destructive way. - **Playful Protective Packaging:** The black tube packaging of the white chalk stick adds a playful spray paint aesthetic while ensuring the product's longevity. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art Supplies:** The MFMARKER Chalk Tagger opens up opportunities for innovative designs and experiences within the art supplies industry. - **Outdoor Toys:** Reimagined chalk sticks like Baschz Leeft's creation enhance the play value and engagement of outdoor toy offerings. - **Children's Creativity Tools:** The MFMARKER Chalk Tagger provides a unique tool to spark creativity in children while introducing them to art forms like graffiti in a controlled manner. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Confectionary-Inspired Chalks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sparkling-macaron-sidewalk-chalk.md) - [Unique Writing Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/graphite-paintbrush-writing-instrument.md) - [Stone-Grip Conical Pencils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aluminum-sphere.md) - [Magnetic Toy-Like Writing Utensils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetdabbles.md) - [Sculptural Writing Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/experimental-pencils.md) - [Imaginative Pared-Back Art Supplies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woset.md) - [Colorful Tech Stylus Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-crayon-pro.md) - [Multipurpose Beauty Crayons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artist-color-crayon.md) - [Mess-Free Eco Craft Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/create-n-colour.md)
