# Sous-Storage Seating Chaise Leaf by Petit Romain Needs No Coffee Table Companion By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-08-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chaise-leaf-by-petit-romain References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/Chaise-Leaf-2009/938392) Most of the time, a chair is only as useful as the side table sitting next to it, but the Chaise Leaf by Petit Romain offers sitters a place to stow away their books. Ideal for [waiting rooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chapters-furniture) and quirky kitchen table arrangements, these peculiar perches serve up more practicality than most can offer thanks to a tray beneath the seat. A close look at this creation shows the observer how clever the design really is. The [magazine rack](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookmarker-table) was not simply an afterthought, but it is actually formed from the cut and folded material between the front two legs. In fact, the backrest too is made through the same process applied to the back chair legs. The bright and contemporary Chaise Leaf by Petit Romain is actually molded from a [single flat panel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/walle-stool). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Multi-functional Furniture:** The Chaise Leaf by Petit Romain demonstrates the trend of multi-functional furniture by incorporating a magazine rack and storage tray. - **Space-saving Solutions:** This innovative design offers a space-saving solution for small living spaces, waiting rooms, and other compact environments. - **Intuitive Design:** The clever design of the Chaise Leaf showcases the trend of intuitive and thoughtful furniture design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can explore the opportunities of creating multi-functional furniture pieces to meet the demands of space-conscious consumers. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can leverage the trend of space-saving solutions by incorporating innovative furniture designs like the Chaise Leaf into their projects. - **Home Decor Retail:** Home decor retailers can embrace the trend of intuitive design by offering furniture options that combine style and functionality, such as the Chaise Leaf. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Storage-Attached Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grid-chair.md) - [Table-Equipped Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/migo-chair.md) - [Chic Single-Piece Plywood Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/void-lounge-chair.md) - [Posh Pet-Friendly Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-chair-design.md) - [Sliding Flatpack Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folio-chair.md) - [Modular Table Seatings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-table-and-chair.md) - [Storage-Equipped Restaurant Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rack-chair.md) - [Bended Tubular Chair-Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept.md) - [Antitheft Storage Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/afford-chair.md)
