# Metallic Seating Sheaths The unZIP Chair Cover Set Protects Chairs with Stylish Shine By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-04-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chair-cover-set References: [mocoloco](http://mocoloco.com/archives/028669.php) & [rui-pereira](http://www.rui-pereira.com/index.php?/news1/unzip/) A collaborative design by HAF, Rui Pereira and Ryosuke Fukusada, the unZIP chair cover set is a sleek way to cover up seats in a shiny and protective coating. Each chair wrap comes in a tight little box, compacted into a cutout of a classic chair shape that can be unfolded to reveal a full-size chair cover. Four different metallic colors including gold, silver, bronze and black, mean that chairs will still look glamorous and luxurious even when covered up. These sheaths are a smart way to protect furniture so it won't get dusty or scratched in storage, or they can be used to decorate seats for a themed party or wedding celebration. The unZIP chair cover set will be presented during Milan design week 2013. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Metallic Chair Covers:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Develop high-quality, reusable metallic chair covers that protect and enhance furniture aesthetics. - **Compact Chair Covers:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Design compact chair covers that are easy to store and transport, providing convenience for event planners and homeowners. - **Versatile Chair Decorations:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Create chair covers that can be used for both protective purposes and as decorative elements for themed events and parties. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Introduce innovative chair cover designs and materials to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of furniture. - **Event Planning:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Develop chair cover solutions that cater to the needs of event planners, providing easy setup and customization options. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Create stylish chair covers that blend seamlessly with different home decor styles, offering both protection and visual appeal. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wrinkled Plastic Film-Wrapped Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-coenen-1.md) - [Monomaterial Aluminum Folded Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldseat.md) - [Sliding Flatpack Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folio-chair.md) - [Fabric-Wrapped Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zhe-rocking-chair.md) - [Metallic Tubular Minimal Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tone-chair.md) - [Flatpack Ultra-Modular Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-chair.md) - [Simplistic Seating Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hipstool.md) - [Suitcase Sheet Metal Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neoprimitive-chair.md) - [Leather-Accented Industrial Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/l1-chair-from-object-leuci.md)
