Designed by Marianne Limburg, the set features porcelain forms glazed in soft pastels. Kings and queens are represented by high-backed armchairs, bishops by armless variants, and pawns by simple stools—each uniquely shaped but instantly recognizable as seating objects (). Placed on a [minimalist board](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jigsaw-chess-set), the chair-themed pieces blur the line between functional design and aesthetic whimsy. Each ceramic form captures light and shadow differently, offering tactile variation as players move pieces. Perfect for design lovers, the set transforms game night into an opportunity to admire artistry and craftsmanship alongside strategic play.
