The two [conjoined chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bench-for-two) will just have to live in harmony for the rest of their existence. Considering how versatile they are together, they should have no problem with that. Whether placed upright like a quirky throne or [sideways as a bench](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipster-seat), it fulfills at least a couple of duties. Designed by Jiwon Choi, a South Korean designer who is currently traveling around the world for commissioned work, the Chair + Chair = Bench may look quite simple aside from its strange tweak and [basic materials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uno-collection-1), but it "is humorous in its strict form," as noted by the designer. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Multi-functional Furniture:** The Siamese Seating by Jiwon Choi presents an opportunity for the multi-functional furniture trend by uniting two chairs into one bench. - **Novelty Designs:** The Chair + Chair = Bench presents an opportunity for the novelty designs trend by combining two chairs in a unique way. - **Minimalism:** The basic materials used in the Chair + Chair = Bench presents an opportunity for the minimalism trend. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** The Chair + Chair = Bench presents an opportunity for the furniture industry to innovate with multi-functional and novelty designs. - **Interior Design:** The Siamese Seating by Jiwon Choi presents an opportunity for the interior design industry to incorporate multi-functional furniture into their projects. - **Retail:** The Chair + Chair = Bench presents an opportunity for the retail industry to provide customers with unique and minimalist furniture options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dual Sculpture Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immaterial-0001.md) - [Ultra-Simple Multifunctional Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chairpf.md) - [Puzzle-Like Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twinsmdf.md) - [Table-Equipped Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/migo-chair.md) - [Dynamic Structural Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldont-chair.md) - [Modular Seating Design Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pla-modular-chair.md) - [Dual-Seated Plate Aluminum Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/move-a-little-bit-further.md) - [Simplistically Shaped Geometric Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sitter-chair.md) - [Dual-Function Seating Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rubik-stool.md)
