# Thick Shag Seating This Chair by James Breaux Whimsically Mimics a Grassy Lawn By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-10-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chair-by-james-breaux References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/jamesbreaux/frame/928777) Moments of reposing on lush green grass are usually occasions of leisure accompanied by sentiments of contentment. Chair by James Breaux attempts to bring this setting inside so that the sitter can attain a level of relaxation indoors when his lifestyle does not allow him to unwind fully. Realistically, this [unusual-looking lounger](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/introvert-chair) might be considered more comfortable than the firm and prickly carpet of the park. It has been sculpted into an [ergonomic curvature](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/z-lounger) that elevates the upper body and the knees, to prevent the pain and numbness in the arms, legs and bottom that you may feel when lying back on the lawn. Furthermore, Chair by James Breaux has been blanketed with thick fabric rolls that act as a chunky shag cushioning, providing a soft surface that embraces your body. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 45% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Indoor-outdoor Seating:** Opportunity to create seating that mimics outdoor terrain for indoor use. - **Ergonomic Lounge Chairs:** Opportunity to design lounge chairs that elevate upper body and knees for optimal comfort. - **Thick Cushioned Seating:** Opportunity to create shag or cushioned seating for ultimate comfort. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** Opportunity to create innovative lounge chairs for indoor and outdoor use. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to incorporate unique seating options for clients looking for comfort and style. - **Hospitality:** Opportunity to offer guests unique and comfortable seating options in lounges and lobbies. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Naturalistic Grass-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-flip-chair.md) - [Comfort-Focused Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-grapy-lounge-chair.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Vibrant Chaise Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/versarest.md) - [Ergonomic Inflated Reclined Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/johannes-faurebrac.md) - [Soothing Boat-Like Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canoa-chair.md) - [Low-Lying Profile Cushioned Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kouros-maghsoudi.md) - [Living Plant DIY Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-hideaway.md) - [Cozy Contemporary Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-perron-bun.md)
