# Spinal Column Seating Chair-bsed is Ergonomic and Eye-Catching By Michael Hines | Published 2011-11-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chair-bsed References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/chair-bsed/1479031) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/GavrilovaAnastasiya) Chair-bsed is an [ergonomic chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omni-ergonomic-office-chair) designed to exactly mimic the shape of the spine. The chair was designed by Anastasiya Gavrilova to be both eye-catching and comfortable. Chair-bsed is eye-catching in that not only is it shaped like a spinal cord, but it is designed to look like one too. The chair's back is made up of individual vertebrae, with the headrest replaced with a neck rest. The chair doesn't look very soft or comfortable, but that is the whole point. Gavrilova's design provides [spinal support](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/himalaya-pelvis-chair) first and foremost. Sitting on this chair for hours on end may not be as comfortable as crashing out on a Laz-E-Boy, but it will be better for you in the long run. Furniture companies are focusing more and more on [ergonomic designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/libernovo-omni) as more people join the office workforce. A spinal column chair like Chair-bsed may very well be the future of furniture. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Ergonomic Chair Designs:** The trend of ergonomic designs in furniture is on the rise, and chair-bsed represents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the industry. - **Spinal Support Furniture:** The demand for furniture that provides proper spinal support is increasing, and Chair-bsed presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in this niche. - **Functional Aesthetics:** The trend of combining function and aesthetics in furniture design is growing, and Chair-bsed showcases an opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating visually appealing yet functional chairs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry can look to Chair-bsed as an opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating ergonomic and visually appealing chairs. - **Office Furniture:** The office furniture industry can consider Chair-bsed as an opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating ergonomic chairs that promote spinal health. - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can explore Chair-bsed as an opportunity for disruptive innovation in incorporating functional and eye-catching furniture designs into their projects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Spinal Alignment Desk Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standing-desk-chair-encourages.md) - [Dynamic Intelligent Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dynamic-spinecare.md) - [Skeletally Inspired Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chaise-espinhal.md) - [Ergonomic Wheel-Shaped Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-azbi-chair.md) - [Performance-Driven Ergonomic Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-office-chair2.md) - [Minimalist Ergonomic Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-office-chair1.md) - [Ergonomic Versatile Wooden Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-chair-1.md) - [Supplemental Posture Chair Supports](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curble-chair.md) - [Sleek Ergonomic Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oc14.md)
