The Abu Stool is a clever attachment made from polypropylene that allows you to repurpose a stool with a temporary back. The t-bar at the bottom slots between the front legs of the stool. The weight of the user locks the whole contraption into place. Several of these attachments can be [stacked for easy storage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/walle-stool). The designer is Cenk Derrell. This may be a concept design rather than an actual product as there is not much information on it. If it existed, it could be a useful product with perhaps some [interior decor potential](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aroma-chair). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 6% | Activity: 28% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Backless Chair Solutions:** Opportunity for innovative attachments or designs that add temporary backs to backless chairs. - **Polypropylene Furniture Accessories:** Potential for the development of more versatile and functional attachments made from polypropylene for furniture. - **Stackable Furniture Attachments:** The demand for stackable attachments or accessories for furniture that offer easy storage and convenience. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Scope for furniture designers to create innovative attachments that enhance the functionality of backless chairs. - **Interior Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in interior decor by incorporating versatile attachments or accessories that improve the usability of furniture. - **Plastic Manufacturing:** Potential for plastic manufacturers to specialize in producing polypropylene attachments for various furniture applications. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Supplemental Posture Chair Supports](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curble-chair.md) - [Cross Leg-Supported Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/euljiro.md) - [Modular Workspace Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/versatile-stool-design.md) - [Visibly Undulating Stool Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concave-stool.md) - [Collapsible Posture Support Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-portable-seat.md) - [Biodegradable Stool Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-stool.md) - [Functional Decorative Rocking Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rool-stool.md) - [Functional Flat-Packed Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/walle-stool.md) - [DIY Flatpack Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/that-stool.md)
