Instead of opting for the safe and simple [plates and serving platters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gathered-collection), the Ceramica Botanica collection provides a slew of options that boasts bright colors and bold patterns. Of course, the pieces can be used as accents instead of overtaking the entire cupboard. Handmade in her [backyard clay studio](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handpainted-ceramic-collections), the Ceramica Botanica collection is the brainchild of San Antonio native Susan Rodriguez, who graduated from [Texas State University](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fidget-spinner-functionality) in both design and ceramics. She reveals, "I started doing exaggerated ornate hand-built pieces trying to imitate spectacular botanical architecture. Botanical forms still excite me but now my pieces have evolved to clean, simple, subtle organic forms with detailed, colorful patterned surfaces." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Patterned Dishware:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a line of patterned dishware that combines bold colors and intricate designs to elevate dining experiences. - **Handmade Ceramics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a platform that connects consumers with local artisans who create unique handmade ceramics, offering a personalized and sustainable alternative to mass-produced dishware. - **Colorful Accents:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design a range of colorful accent pieces that allow individuals to add vibrant touches to their existing dishware collections, promoting versatility and personalization. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Goods:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce an online marketplace specializing in curated home goods that offers a wide selection of vibrantly patterned dishware options to cater to individual tastes. - **Artisanal Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Establish a cooperative manufacturing platform that supports local artists and ceramicists, ensuring the production of high-quality, handmade dishware at scale. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with interior designers to create custom-made, patterned dishware collections that perfectly complement different interior styles, providing a cohesive dining experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Revived Mid-Century Serveware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tortugaware.md) - [Luxurious Patterned Ceramic Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patterned-ceramic-plates.md) - [Adorable Ceramic Homeware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-homeware1.md) - [Culture-Inspired Tableware Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cultureinspired-tableware-collection.md) - [Vibrantly Designed Playful Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hem.md) - [Garden-Inspired Tableware Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Tottus-x-Ximena-Llosa.md) - [Porcelain Dinnerware Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monte-porcelain.md) - [Handmade Dessert Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carolina-k.md) - [Hand-Painted Ceramic Plate Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/destree-x-cabana.md)
