While this ceramic mirror by Amsterdam-based practice Studio Floris Wubben is quite expensive, the piece is one-of-a-kind and incredibly aesthetically appealing. The firm prides itself on "pushing the boundaries of form and function" and it does achieve an interesting result with this piece.

The ceramic mirror is officially named the Portal Mirror and it is offered in a Sky Blue Resin colorway. Debuted as part of the Design Miami 2022 capsule, the piece encompasses innovative design techniques, championed by studio founder Floris Wubben. Inspired by old Dutch bunkers and forests of the Zeeland province, Wubben weives the sensibilities of a "solid and functional defense architecture" into his work. The aesthetic of the mirror, which embodies curious geometric formations, definitely betrays traces of these unexpected inspirations.
