The [contemporary furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/runda-tables) is visually striking with [bright primary colors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yonder-collection) that are paired with mixed materials like cement, metal and wood. With signature shapes and structures, Dune is set apart from other contemporary home decor. One unique piece is a lime green couch that is made of two interlacing thick strips of cushioned material. The cylindrical deep-dish cement table looks like it was part of an industrial cement support beam. The collection also includes 3D mirrors that jut outwards from the wall, appearing to be prism-like structures. Sprucing up any room, this modern furniture acts more like [pieces of art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colendra) while maintaining functionality. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 99% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Bold Contemporary Designs:** There is an opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating furniture designs that are more bold and unique than current contemporary offerings. - **Mixed Material Usage:** Incorporating multiple materials in furniture in visually striking ways can create new and different types of products. - **Functional Art Furniture:** There is potential for creating furniture pieces that not only serve practical purposes but also function as pieces of art. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can benefit from incorporating truly unique and bold designs into their contemporary collections. - **Home Decor:** Home decor companies can incorporate versatile and multi-material furniture designs into their products. - **Art and Design:** There is an opportunity for artists and designers to create furniture pieces that are both functional and visually intriguing. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Fluid Topographic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-table.md) - [Desert Dune-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nando-studio.md) - [Desert-Like 3D-Printed Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-coffee-table.md) - [Wavy Sculptural Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-coffee-tables.md) - [Concrete Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ancora.md) - [Vibrant Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-furniture-collection.md) - [Playful Casual Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uchronia-wave.md) - [Sophisticated Modern Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-furniture-design1.md) - [Dynamic Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tom-dixon-fat-and-plump.md)
