This quirky [smartphone stand](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twelve-south-curve-nano) was designed by Germany's Design 3000, and is intended to look like a mountaineer climbing with a large pack on his back. Smartphone stands and docks are becoming more and more complicated, and while a [touch-activated smartphone dock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dockorb) with an included speaker system is awesome, it's sometimes useful to just have an object that physically props up your phone. Cell Mate Boris holds your [smartphone or MP3 player](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nanopop-magsafe) on its back and your device's charging cable in its hand. The stand comes in red, black and white and is a great alternative to tech-savvy smartphone devices. This simple holder is sure to spice up any nightstand. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Simplistic Smartphone Stands:** Opportunity for creating minimalist smartphone stands that provide a simple and elegant solution to propping up phones. - **Creative Gadget Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for designing unique and quirky gadget stands that stand out in the market. - **Diversified Smartphone Accessories:** Opportunity for creating smartphone accessories that serve a specific purpose, such as holding charging cables, while being visually appealing. ### Where This Applies - **Smartphone Accessories:** Opportunity for manufacturers and designers in the smartphone accessory industry to create innovative and functional stands and docks. - **Consumer Electronics:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the consumer electronics industry by designing creative and unique smartphone stands and accessories. - **Gift and Novelty Retail:** Opportunity for retailers in the gift and novelty industry to offer unique and creative smartphone stands as popular and attractive gift items. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cement-Made Smartphone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artifox-monument.md) - [Pocket-Sized Smartphone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mophie-portable-magnetic-stand.md) - [Freestanding Smartphone Dock Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jteman-phone-stand-and-speaker.md) - [Gripping Smartphone Mount Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kling-kong-smartphone-kickstand.md) - [Power-Providing Smartphone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solove-power-bank.md) - [Shifting Orientation Smartphone Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartphone-stand-charger.md) - [Retro Computer Smartphone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elago-m4-charging-stand.md) - [Versatile EDC Phone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acestand-2.md) - [High-End Design Smartphone Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magsafe-iphone-stand.md)
