The flapjack artist from New Jersey has created these amazing likenesses of [celebrity chefs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nanas-chicken-waffles) Guy Fieri, Paula Dean, Bobby Flay, and extreme cake creator Duff Goldman. According to Food Network and Smith you can make your own pancake portraits at home. Fill a squeeze bottle with batter and draw an outline and details of the face you want to create. Let these cake lines cook for a while and then fill in the rest with more batter. The original outline will show up darker since they have been fried longer. They suggest you start with a simple happy face design and work your way up to the caliber of Bill Smith--no doubt. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 46% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Pancake Art:** The rising trend of creating intricate and realistic portraits using pancake batter, offering opportunities for innovative techniques and tools. - **DIY Food Art:** The growing trend of individuals creating edible art at home, presenting opportunities for DIY kits and customizable food art supplies. - **Celebrity Food Tributes:** The trend of paying tribute to celebrity chefs through edible art, creating opportunities for personalized culinary experiences and themed events. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Food and Beverage:** The food and beverage industry can explore pancake art as a new form of culinary creativity and experiential dining. - **Art and Craft Supplies:** The art and craft supplies industry can tap into the DIY food art trend by offering specialized tools and ingredients for creating edible art. - **Event Planning and Catering:** The event planning and catering industry can incorporate the trend of celebrity food tributes into themed events and customized menus, offering unique culinary experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Gourmet Pancake Stack Menus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fancy-pancake-menu.md) - [Cake-Inspired Pancake Stacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boston-cream-pie-pancakes.md) - [Christmas Tree Pancake Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/complete-pancake-kit.md) - [Bacon-Themed Pancake Specials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-graceland-pancake.md) - [Pancake House Getaways](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eggo-house-of-pancakes.md) - [Heat-and-Eat Prepackaged Pancakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abracadebora-pancakes.md) - [Pancake-Warming Hoodie Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holiday-inn-express-1.md) - [Quick-Prep Griddle Cake Mixes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/griddle-cake-mix.md) - [Stuffed Pancake Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cucinapro-stuffed-pancake-maker.md)
