Simon Upton photographed actress Eva Longoria for the [glammed-up cover and editorial](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-femininity) of the April 2009 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Singapore.

The “Desperate Housewives” co-star, who was clad head-to-toe in [Louis Vuitton](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modernday-travel) melodramatic clothes, looked decidedly chic and glamorous in the fantastic shoot. Eva Longoria’s short hair, styling and sophisticated bistro looks evoke Roaring Twenties flappers such as the iconic American expatriate entertainer Josephine Baker, who was known in France, her adopted country, as La Baker.

Incidentally, a flapper was a young woman, especially one in the 1920s, who showed disdain for conventional dress and behavior.
