# Parasol Planters The Cavity Flowerpot Waters Plants Using Wet Umbrellas By Michael Hines | Published 2011-01-16 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cavity-flowerpot References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2011/01/13/every-drop-goes-into-the-flowerpot/) Designer Merve Sarışın is making it easier than ever before to neglect your houseplants with the new Cavity Flowerpot. The Cavity Flowerpot has four holes designed to hold and collect water from wet umbrellas. If you live in a rainy part of the world, you may never have to water your plants again thanks to the Cavity Flowerpot. All poor plant management aside, it is nice to see designers looking at ways to conserve water. The Cavity Flowerpot isn't the first design to try and reclaim the water from wet umbrellas for plant use, and it hopefully won't be the last. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 10% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Water Conservation Products:** The Cavity Flowerpot is an opportunity for designers to create innovative products that conserve water. - **Indoor Gardening:** Designers can create products like Cavity Flowerpot that make indoor gardening easier and more accessible. - **Smart Planters:** The concept of Cavity Flowerpot can be integrated with smart technology to create planters that monitor and manage plant health. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** Cavity Flowerpot is a product that can fit into the home decor industry. - **Gardening:** Cavity Flowerpot is a product that can fit into the gardening industry. - **Smart Home:** Cavity Flowerpot concept can be integrated with smart home industry to create innovative and sustainable products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Self-Watering Compact Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patella-crescenda.md) - [Naturalistic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apot-selfwatering-planter.md) - [Water Catch-Integrated Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemisphere.md) - [Uniquely Shaped Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/self-watering-plant-house.md) - [Self-Watering Desk Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/posha.md) - [Futuristic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-klaustrafloria.md) - [Self-Watering Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-leafypod.md) - [Smart Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tendril-1.md) - [Self-Watering Plant Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vivo-pot.md)
