Not only does she like to work with watercolors, but [ink, paper and glue](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti) as well. Her inspiration comes from fables as she likes to depict stories through her visuals. In this collection, the artist has used dismembered body parts, which give off a very twisted vibe. Each photo either has an eyeball, set of legs, ears, and even a half animal with human hands. There is also a constant theme of using a white circular object. This series of photographs are definitely dark. For example the photo with young boy in it, he is holding a nail, and looks like he is about to jam it into something. The artist could be trying to convey anger and confusion in these [mixed media photos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes). The beauty of art work is that everyone perceives what they are seeing differently. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Mixed Media Art:** Opportunity for artists to explore new ways of expression by combining different artistic materials, such as watercolors, ink, paper, and glue. - **Visual Storytelling:** The use of art to depict narratives and convey emotions, allowing viewers to interpret and engage with the stories. - **Dark and Twisted Themes:** An emerging trend in art where artists explore unsettling and thought-provoking concepts through dismembered body parts and disturbing imagery. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** An opportunity for artists and designers to create unique and captivating mixed media artworks. - **Entertainment and Media:** The use of visual storytelling techniques in movies, TV shows, and advertising campaigns to evoke emotions and capture audience attention. - **Psychology and Therapy:** Exploring the use of dark and twisted themes in therapeutic art practices to help individuals process and confront complex emotions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vibrantly Colorful Dynamic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kayla-rumpp.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Apocalypse Post Pandemic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-urban-art.md) - [Human Embraced-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-sculpture.md) - [Medicine-Inspired Artful Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/something-for-the-pain.md) - [Glass Beaded Intricate Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition.md) - [Human Torso-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lene-bdker.md) - [Intricate Fiber Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/threadwork-women-redefining-fiber-arts.md) - [Otherwordly Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/william-monk.md)
