# Video Game Kitty Furnishings This Cat Tree by Geckoo_Design is Inspired by a Mario Environment By Kyle Towers | Published 2013-02-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-tree References: [neatorama](http://www.neatorama.com/2013/02/20/Super-Mario-Bros-Cat-Tree/) & [instructables](http://www.instructables.com/id/Mario-Brothers-Cat-Tree/) Does anyone recognize this iconic backdrop that has been turned into an immersive environment cat tree? Gecko_Design from Instructables has created this wonderful Mario world for your cat to play on. The tree mimics popular Mario backdrops with a block, a question block, two pipes and an intimidating [Piranha Plant](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piranha-plant-camera). It will be like your cat is playing a Mario level every time he uses it. This cat toy is enough to make me want to get my own cat just so I can watch the little furball enjoy it as much as I want to. Hopefully Geckoo_Design's next project is a Mario-themed human tree. The user promises he will provide instructions for the cat tree soon, so be patient. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [DIY](https://www.trendhunter.com/diy) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Immersive Environments:** Creating immersive environments for pets, like this Mario-themed cat tree, can provide a unique and engaging experience. - **Inspirational Backdrops:** Designing pet products inspired by iconic backdrops, such as this Mario environment, adds a fun and nostalgic element. - **Interactive Play Experiences:** Integrating gaming elements into pet toys, like this cat tree mimicking a Mario level, enhances the interactive playtime for pets. ### Who This Affects Most - **Pet Furniture:** The pet furniture industry can explore creating more immersive and thematic products that provide unique experiences for pets. - **Pet Toy Manufacturing:** Manufacturers in the pet toy industry can capitalize on the trend of interactive play experiences by developing innovative products inspired by popular media. - **DIY Instructional Platforms:** DIY platforms and communities can seize the opportunity to provide instructions and guidance for creating customized immersive environments, like this Mario cat tree. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cityscape-Like Cat Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mocats.md) - [Cat Tree Furniture Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slash-cat-tree.md) - [Modular Cat Trees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-cat-trees.md) - [Premium Cat Tree Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-cat-tree.md) - [Flatpack Feline Entertainment Towers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/float-cat-tree.md) - [Vertical Feline Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-tree-house-2.md) - [Gaming Star Toppers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invincibility-star.md) - [Gaming Console Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mario-cart-coffe-table.md) - [Contemporary Cat Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Cat-Furniture-1.md)
