# Playful Cat Towns Meowses Provides Fun Alternatives to Boring Cat House Options By Meghan Young | Published 2014-10-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-town References: [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/161003857/meowses-awesome-cat-houses) MEOWSES is a set of [cat houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-tree-house-2) that when brought together create a playful cat town. A great way to rethink the classic cat house, it brings a special touch to homes, especially family homes. A cat town ensures that such beloved pets feel as though they have more designated space for themselves. Of course, felines do have a knack for claiming the entire house as their own in any event. Designed by Dan Parkes and Jesse Levine of Brooklyn, New York, in collaboration with [PB&J Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pbj-inspired-sandwich-plates), the MEOWSES cat town capitalizes on the pet's fascination with boxes. Levine says, "As designers we knew we could use this canvas to create designs that were in line with our lifestyles, giving us the opportunity to create a product that would be fun for both our cats and us." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Playful Cat Houses:** Creating innovative designs for cat houses that bring a special touch to homes. - **Cat Town Concepts:** Developing cat houses that can be combined to create a playful cat town, giving cats more designated space. - **Pet-friendly Home Design:** Exploring ways to incorporate innovative cat house designs into family homes for a more interactive experience. ### Where This Applies - **Pet Products:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in creating unique and interactive cat houses for pet owners. - **Interior Design:** Opportunities for incorporating creative cat house designs into home decor, appealing to pet owners. - **Manufacturing:** Producing customizable and modular cat houses that can be combined to create a cat town, catering to pet owners' preferences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Customizable Feline Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meow-modular-cat-furniture.md) - [Affordable Minimalist Cat Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petsy-cat-house.md) - [Contemporary Cat Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Cat-Furniture-1.md) - [Cat Cafe Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-cafe-beds.md) - [Modular Magnetic Cat Walls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nyanpeki.md) - [Pyramidal Feline Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-cat-furniture.md) - [Pet-Catered Sleek Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/papuk.md) - [Vertical Feline Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-tree-house-2.md) - [Stylish Stimulating Cat Towers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/catit.md)
