While owning a cat is a joyous experience, it comes with a variety of unpleasantries -- bulky cat furniture and toys, being the most common. Komiyama understands this, as the artist created a gorgeous, multi-level [cat climbing house](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neko-yama) that was inspired by the [modernist architectural movement](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-kyobate). While a cat is inside this space, it serves as a private abode. Meanwhile, the structure stands as a decorative object for the home owner to display with pride. To top the design off, Yoh Komiyama's structure is finished with a marble base, making for an elegant and durable addition to one's home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalist Cat Climbing Structures:** Opportunity for designers and manufacturers to create visually pleasing and functional cat climbing structures that blend seamlessly into modern homes. - **Multi-level Cat Climbing Houses:** Potential for innovative cat climbing houses that serve as private abodes for cats and decorative objects for pet owners. - **Hardwood Cat Toys:** Demand for minimalist cat toys made of hardwood that are both aesthetically pleasing and durable. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Pet Furniture and Toys:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the pet furniture and toy industry to create modern, visually appealing, and functional products. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for designers and retailers to offer cat climbing structures that serve as decorative objects for homes, appealing to both cat owners and interior design enthusiasts. - **Woodworking and Crafts:** Potential for artisans and craftsmen to specialize in creating hardwood cat toys that cater to the growing demand for minimalist and durable pet products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vertical Feline Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-tree-house-2.md) - [Hybrid Feline-Friendly Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-cat-tower.md) - [Cat-Catered Large Japanese Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-cat-tree-house.md) - [Cityscape-Like Cat Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mocats.md) - [Stylish Stimulating Cat Towers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/catit.md) - [Contemporary Cat Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Cat-Furniture-1.md) - [Affordable Minimalist Cat Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petsy-cat-house.md) - [Customizable Feline Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meow-modular-cat-furniture.md) - [Functional Furniture Cat Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/donarturo-cuba-cat-house.md)
