# Cocoon Cat Beds These Cozy Cat Beds are Creatively Shaped Like Cocoons By M | Published 2014-04-23 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-beds References: [etsy](https://www.etsy.com/listing/102416912/cat-nap-cocoon-cave-bed-house-vessel?utm_campaign=Merch&utm_medium=Internal&utm_source=Pinterest) & [etsy](https://www.etsy.com/shop/vaivanat?ref=l2-shopheader-name) These cocoon-shaped cat beds are a cozy, circular alternative to the conventional rectangular shapes cats sleep in. Unlike foam blocks, these cocoon cat beds allow the cat to sit directly inside the bed and enjoy a pleasant snooze. Each of these cushion-like cat beds is made from 100% magenta wool using a technique called wet felting which spreads the wool out, wets it and stretches it super thin. The wool is then shaped into a hallowed-out ball and a hole big enough for a kitty cat to fit in is cut out. Because of the shape of this cat bed, it'll take up little to no room in any home. The soft texture of the wool is ideal for keeping cats cozy and warm as they sleep. Kittens can also flatten the cocoon by laying on top of it like a conventional bed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Circular Cat Beds:** Circular cat beds that differ from the conventional square ones. - **Wet Felting Technique:** Utilizing wet felting technique to create soft cat beds that provide comfort for cats. - **Compact Cat Beds:** Creating compact cat beds that take up less space in homes. ### Who This Affects Most - **Pet Supplies:** Creating new pet supplies such as cat beds utilizing different materials and techniques. - **Home Furnishings:** Providing decorative and functional products like cat furniture and beds. - **Handmade Products:** Producing handmade products for pets as well as humans. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Origami-Like Pet Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/felt-cat-bed.md) - [Therapeutic Cat Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/therapeutic-cat-bed.md) - [Cat Cafe Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-cafe-beds.md) - [Thermostatic Cat Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermostatic-cat-bed.md) - [Geodesic Dome Dog Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/domehome-dog-bed.md) - [Modern Comfort-Centric Rounded Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roundish-bed.md) - [Comfy Sofa-Inspired Pet Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sofa-pet-bed.md) - [Timber Sun-Inspired Pet Perches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/myzoo-solar.md) - [Modular Feline-Friendly Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-couch-concept.md)
