This [retro-inspired music player](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-technology-tech-brand-kickbacks-discman-is-nostalgic) was comprised by designers Stefano Pertegato, Massimiliano Rampoldi, Eloisa Tolu, Francesco Schiraldi and Giovanni Mendini. The Italian team wanted this awesome device to be more than just an MP3 player housed in a cassette body, they also wanted it to have similar functions to a cassette. Incorporating both modern and traditional elements, the designers of the Cassette MP3 Player were able to give users a device that holds up to 45 songs and is the size of a real cassette. What makes it original is the fact that you can [fast-forward and rewind](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/we001-elvis-presley-limited-edition) by turning the cassette wheel tracks, just like you would back in the day. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Nostalgic Audio Players:** Opportunity for creating modern versions of outdated audio players with a nostalgic touch. - **Retro-tech-inspired Design:** Opportunity for creating designs that combine traditional elements with modern technology for a unique user experience. - **Functional Art:** Opportunity for creating functional pieces that pay homage to past technologies and designs. ### Who This Affects Most - **Consumer Electronics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to develop nostalgic audio devices reimagined with modern technology. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to create functional pieces that serve as decorative elements for rooms with a trendy vintage aesthetic. - **Fashion Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to incorporate vintage trends in wearable tech devices such as bracelets or necklaces that double as audio players. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro Transparent Cassette Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/its-real.md) - [Minimalist Wireless Cassette Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/we-are-rewind-cassette-player.md) - [Pop Band Cassette Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/we001-duran-duran-special-edition.md) - [Modernized Cassette Player Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-cassette-tape-player.md) - [Nostalgic Compact Clear Cassettes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cp81.md) - [Compact Cassette-Inspired Music Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snowsky-retro.md) - [Modernized Cassette Tape Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fiio-cp13.md) - [Nostalgic Colorful Casette Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/we001-edith.md) - [Nostalgic Audio Interfaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cassetteone.md)
