Since the space was meant to host dinner parties with friends, theater performances by grandchildren, and other hobbies like painting and meditation, Schols managed to give it a modular design that features [sliding walls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blooming-shed). [Garden House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tane-garden-house), as Casper Schols named the building, is a gabled structure built from douglas fir and an aluminum roof. Though it looks like a standard garden shed when fully closed, Garden House's inner walls are separated from its outer walls, allowing them to slide into various formations with a firm bout of pushing from one of the more hale Schols children. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.5/10 - Popularity: 96% | Activity: 92% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Modular Design:** The trend of modular design allows for flexible and adaptable spaces to suit various needs and activities. - **Multi-use Spaces:** There is a growing demand for spaces that can serve multiple purposes, catering to different activities and events. - **Sliding Walls:** Sliding walls offer the opportunity to easily transform and reconfigure spaces to create different layouts and functionalities. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture and Design:** Architects and designers can explore innovative approaches to create modular and multi-use spaces using sliding wall systems. - **Event Planning and Entertainment:** Event planners and entertainment industry professionals can utilize modular garden pavilions with sliding walls to provide versatile venues for various events. - **Home and Garden:** Homeowners and garden enthusiasts can incorporate modular garden pavilions with sliding walls to create flexible outdoor living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cozy Gaden Cabin Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garden-pavilion.md) - [Serene Wooden Garden Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garden-pavilion-1.md) - [Contemporary Garden Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garden-pavilion-2.md) - [Shape‑shifting Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-offgrid-house.md) - [Modular Wooden Shed Offices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/schtauss.md) - [Interactive Architectural Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-landscape.md) - [Simplistic Tranquil Garden Studios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuinhuis-atelier.md) - [Modular Sauna Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pavilion-sei.md) - [Adaptive Backyard Studios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/love-shack-1.md)
