# Arboreal Latin Lairs The Beautiful Casa eR2 by em-estudio Blends Nature with Industrial Elements By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2013-03-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-er2-by-emestudio References: [homedsgn](http://www.homedsgn.com/2013/03/28/casa-er2-by-em-estudio/) & [em-estudio](http://em-estudio.com/) With the Casa eR2 by em-estudio, there's somewhat of a symbiotic relationship that is created between the exterior natural world and the brutal [concrete aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-house-1) that the interior expresses. The home is located in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico and is rather eclectic in styling; the various design choices have a certain 70s charm that can be associated with the concrete structure that holds them. Although it is rather sharply shaped, the Casa eR2 by em-estudio helps to balance the [brutalism style](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/john-dessarzin-jungle-sanctuary) with a distinct focus on greenery. The kitchen leads off onto the patio that features [abundant shrubbery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/el-pastizal), which shines a little lighthearted ambience into the space. Although the Casa eR2 by em-estudio is indeed an allover stunning creation, my favorite aspect is the sunken living area that looks ready for entertaining. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Brutalist Architecture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in creating industrial-style homes that blend with nature. - **Eclectic Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in incorporating various design choices with a focus on greenery. - **Sunken Living Areas:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in creating sunken living spaces for entertaining purposes. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture and Construction:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in designing and constructing homes that combine brutalist architecture with natural elements. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in creating eclectic interiors that seamlessly blend various design styles and incorporate green features. - **Entertainment and Hospitality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in incorporating sunken living areas in hotels, restaurants, and event venues for enhanced entertainment experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Minimal Concrete Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/copas.md) - [Nature-Leveraging Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-caoba.md) - [Light-CelebratingTwo-Storey Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-tres-rboles.md) - [Landscape-Integrated Hill Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-av.md) - [Sculptural Canteliver Concrete Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-del-alma.md) - [Interior Courtyard Mexican Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-ll.md) - [Living Landscape Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hedge-and-arbour-house.md) - [Hillside Concrete Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-house-1.md) - [Spacious Forest Vacation Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-el-pinar.md)
