The designers write, "Cities are made up of buildings, these in turn are made up of interiors which themselves are made up of individual objects." This is how they built the Casa Bosques Book City. Designed by Monterrey, Mexico-based Savvy Studio in collaboration with Isauro Huizar of Los Contratistas, the Casa Bosques Book City brings a monumental feel to the bookshelf structures as well as the books they contain. The designers further write, "It also helps us to appreciate individual works and monuments as fundamental elements of a city’s history and a collective memory." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: South America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Urban Book Retreats:** Opportunity for creating urban literary spaces that reimagine the traditional bookstore experience. - **Metropolis-inspired Installations:** Innovative designs that transform ordinary objects into miniature urban landscapes. - **Monumental Bookshelves:** Creating visually striking bookshelf structures that elevate the importance of individual books. ### Who This Affects Most - **Retail:** Bookstores and publishers can create unique urban spaces that attract readers and offer immersive literary experiences. - **Interior Design:** Designers can explore new ways to incorporate city-inspired elements into furniture and installations. - **Architecture:** Architects can experiment with unconventional designs that combine practicality with visual appeal, offering disruptive solutions for urban spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mobile Glass Libraries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-libreria.md) - [Metal Sheet-Facade Book Stores](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shanghai-book-city.md) - [Book-Inspired Public Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sit-down-to-read.md) - [Floating Wetland Bookstore](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xixi-goldmye-bookstore.md) - [Glass-Lined Towering Libraries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beijing-city-library.md) - [Temporary Translucent Libraries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-liberia.md) - [Open-Air Libraries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-billyotheque.md) - [Wood-Wrapped Contemporary Libraries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/graded-school-library.md) - [Book-Themed Bar Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/book-bar-toronto.md)
